Money Fundamentals - Mindset
Mindset is the first piece of the puzzle. If we want to make fundamental changes, we must have the right mindset. Without it, we cannot get that far, and we are here to run a marathon called life.

Okay, now that we have briefly talked about why we should care about money, let's start with some fundamentals. I want to start with the mind. Mindset is the first piece of the puzzle. If we want to make fundamental changes, we must have the right mindset. Without it, we cannot get that far, and we are here to run a marathon called life.
I want to zoom out a bit. We are here for the "Financial Independence," you would say. But allow me to talk to you about something a bit bigger than that. A successful life. A life with a great sense of fulfillment.
See, everyone will try to tell you what a successful life should look like, and we are constantly bombarded by a ton of information, and you feel that you are pulled into many different directions. At the end of the day, you think that you are not living the life you deserve. But what is that life? What does success mean to you?
The idea here is to identify what makes us feel at peace with ourselves. Identify what success means to you. There isn't any blueprint that works for everyone; you should get to your own definition. Otherwise, you will never feel successful. Health, finances or family are parts of your life's whole pie. Each piece of your life's pie has its own priority, and you get to decide what the pieces are, but you must define them.
Once we have defined our definition of success, we will have our north star and know what to think about when we are at our lowest and highest points. We will have that element that grounds us and push us forward. So when challenges come our way and try to make us deviate from our purpose, we can shake it off and continue going forward.
While working on your definition of success, consider being reasonable and seek balance. This should keep us moving forward, not something that should bring stress and pain. Think that you are writing your definition with a pencil; your definition is not set in stone, but you have to start somewhere.
Here are some steps that you can take:
- 🔬 Self-Exploration: Take the time to think about what truly matters to you, considering your passions, values and what brings a sense of fulfillment to your life. Include all the areas, i.e. health, career, relationships, personal growth, etc.
- 😎 Visualize Your Ideal Life: Imagine what a successful life looks like for you. What achievements or milestones would you like to reach? How would you want to feel on a daily basis? Picture your ideal lifestyle and the things that would make you content.
- 🔝 Prioritize: Recognize that different areas of your life may require different levels of attention at different times. Decide which aspects are most important to you right now and prioritize them accordingly.
- 📓 Make a Plan: Once you have a clearer idea of what success means to you, outline actionable steps you can take to achieve it. This plan should be realistic and achievable, keeping in mind the time and resources you have available.
- ⚖️ Seek Balance: Remember that personal success isn't just about achievements; it's also about balance. Consider how various aspects of your life (work, relationships, health, leisure) fit together and contribute to your overall well-being. Check this guided exercise.
- 🎉 Celebrate Progress: Acknowledge your achievements along the way, no matter how small. Celebrating milestones reinforces your sense of success and keeps you motivated.
Going through this exercise will help you carve out a definition of personal success that is meaningful to you and guides you toward a fulfilling life. This is your life, your journey; make it the best one you will live.
